This time, when the bully stepped up in front of me, I called him out. Cancer awakened the lion within me, and I was determined to fight back , for me and for my family. But what exactly do I do to marshal the energy behind this roar?
When you found out about your cancer, you may have exploded with a similar roar either internally or, as I did, out loud. Or perhaps you’ve been so terrified of what’s coming that you’ve numbed yourself into a catatonic state or, worse, you’ve accepted cancer as a death sentence and have basically given up. Experiencing all these emotions is normal, I think, but whatever you’re feeling right now, know that there is One who is not afraid of your cancer and who is in fact very able to help you confront it.
This is an excerpt from Trusting God with Cancer, by Rob Raban.
